The way Southend United are going, they'll be playing in a local park with Leigh Ramblers and whatever other local mob are there on a Sunday morning in a few years.

The thought of even needing a stadium will be farcial.

Yeah you are right Bolty… one of those stadiums it can be 80 odd degrees outside and it’s always proper tata’s in there… Roots Hall is the same… always baltic

Re: The Omoyinmi Saga
You were fucked if you sat on them wooden seats when it was cold.

Remember a few boxing day games sitting on them fucking things, and having a frozen ring/gusset all game.

Yeah we was at that match... midweek IIRC... very diluted atmosphere what I remember... and very ancient wooden seats

One of those goals made it onto the hammers greatest goals compilation video.

Such a promising career, shame it went the way it did

Re: The Omoyinmi Saga
Ridiculous
Giving them the benefit of the doubt but surely someone was given the details of suspensions etc when starting the comp.
It's kinda of worse as Ipswich and Colchester drew last night in the final game but Ipswich won on penalties.Crazily enough this counts as a draw.
If it had counted as a win for Ipswich then our U21's would of still gone through. That's a stupid rule.Ipswich bloody won,In affect the penalties were there just incase both teams had ended up on the same points.

Let's hope that having an Algerian taking the 5th penalty in the EFL Cup that still counts.

FFS.
The club had better check every rule in every competition we are NOW.

Re: The Omoyinmi Saga
Always found it a bit unfair that he never played for us again after. May not have been intentional but it did *feel* like a punishment. He was really good as well tbh.

The funniest thing was commentators and pundits not struggling so much with pronouncing "Omoyinmi", but always stumbling over "ineligible".

Possibly a CUNNING RUSE to get out of a competition nobody gives a monkey's bollocks about.

We didn’t want to win it anyway, save a trophy for someone else.
